Bayfest Live Debuts this Weekend! Downtown Green Bay will welcome long-standing community event with a new sound on Friday, June 17th from 4 to 11 pm and Saturday, June 18th from 11 am to 11 pm. Bayfest Live is changing it up with fresh acts and a focus on music. All stages and main acts can be seen with the $5 admission fee, and VIP packages are also available for $15 to $20. In addition to experiencing great musical offerings event-goers can expect their favorite festival foods, a variety of activities for children and a marketplace featuring a selection of unique goods. newARTS has teamed up with The Green Bay Exchange Club to offer a Raffle for the Riches at Bayfest Live this year! For a $2 ticket, you get the chance to win one of three prize packages: $1500 cash, patio set, gas grill and high end cooler; $1000 cash and golf package worth $500; or $500 cash and a 32” flat screen TV. Proceeds benefit newARTS and The Green Bay Exchange Club. Drawing held at 6 pm on Saturday, June 18th.

2011 Wet Whistle Wine Festival – Call for Artists! Community Improvement of Algoma Main Street Program and our partnering sponsors, the von Stiehl Winery and the Farm Market Kitchen, invite you to attend the 2011 Wet Whistle Wine Festival, which promises to be a special 10 year anniversary celebration. This is a great opportunity to experience the fine selection of wines from Algoma’s own award-winning von Stiehl Winery, heritage foods prepared by Algoma’s Farm Market Kitchen, fine arts vendors, live music, and celebrity and competitive grape stomping.

VISUAL ARTS:
The ARTgarage and The Avenue 91.1 - Gallery Night, Tonight, June 16th from 5 to 9 pm - Join them for this fantastic evening of art, demonstrations, music and refreshments! Demonstrations include a few art techniques including a wire tree demo by Ann Preston and an insta- books demo by Katrina Blasingame, our newest studio artist. The front gallery features the photography work of artist, Kara Counard, featuring portraits of women called the 101 Women Project. Come, enjoy the art and music, talk with the artists, and have a few refreshments!

Collage Art Workshop - The Art of Collage: An Exploration of Materials and Techniques, at the Windhover Center for the Arts - Saturday, June 18th from 10 am to 4 pm - Artist Randel Plowman will be conducting a collage workshop. Randel Plowman has worked in collage since 1982, and his art has been exhibited in solo and juried exhibitions throughout the United States. His pieces have appeared in many public and private collections in North America and abroad, including the Cincinnati Art Museum. Plowman’s work has been cited in numerous publications, including The New York Times and USA Today and was featured in How to Design magazine, Artist Magazine and Somerset Studio. He curated, Masters: Collage for Sterling Publishing, a book featuring the work of over 40 contemporary collage artists and is currently working on a collage book based on his collage workshops.
He and has a popular collage blog: http://acollageaday.blogspot.com/ where he post his daily collages. He currently lives and works in Madison Wisconsin where he is pursuing an M.F.A. in printmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Brown County Library Announces Summer in the City Line-Up! Brown County Library’s performing arts series, Summer in the City, returns for its 24th year! Part of the 2011 One World, Many Stories Summer Reading Program, this series, funded in part by the Green Bay Packers Foundation, provides free performing arts experiences for children and their families. These Wednesday programs for school-age audiences (ages 5 and up) are held at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm in the Brown County Central Library Auditorium, 515 Pine Street, downtown Green Bay. Each performance lasts approximately 45 minutes. Seating is limited, and is available on a first-arrival basis. Reservations are only needed for groups of ten or more and can be made one week in advance for each program by calling the Children’s Department at (920) 448-5846. Additionally, students in grades K-12 can ride the city buses FREE to and from most Brown County Libraries from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays, June 15th through August 10th just by showing their library card. This offer does not apply to groups and is not available in Pulaski, Wrightstown, Denmark or Howard. This complimentary service is provided by Green Bay Metro.

National Railroad Museum – Day Out With Thomas - Wednesday, June 22nd through 26th - Get on the fast track to Day Out With Thomas at the National Railroad Museum! Visitors can take a 25-minute ride on a train pulled by a full size Thomas the Tank Engine!
