Kirsten Christianson's Artist in Residence

Kirsten Christianson has spent most of January and February teaching at various Wisconsin schools. Here are a few photos of her latest project with St. Joseph School in Fort Atkinson. This is Noah and the Ark - created with handmade paper. Every child from the school was involved in the project - grades 1 through 8, kindergarten, and 4 year-old and 3 year-old preschool. One of Kirstens' challenges - fitting them all on the mural!
Next, Kirsten will be working with Stephanie St. John and Kris Kolinski at Clay on Steele in Algoma. They have received a $3,000 grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board for an art project that will involve the local parochial and home-schooled children. Fundraising for the matching $3,000 will begin right away, so please pitch in to help this great project - if not in the monetary sense, volunteering to help is another great alternative. I'll update as the project begins - especially with all the details that my mind can't seem to remember at the moment.
